I’m a freelance science writer and fifth year Ph.D. student in molecular and cell biology at UC Berkeley. Although I’m still on page one of my dissertation, my non-academic writing has been published in the Berkeley Science Review and the Genetics Society of America’s blog, Genes to Genomes. I’m also committed to science outreach and education, topics I spoke about in my recent interview on the radio program The Graduates. When I’m not reading, cursing at the microscope or typing furiously, I can usually be found at the gym or cooking (and accidentally making the food too spicy at least five percent of the time).
