I’m a freelance science writer and sixth year PhD student in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. Although my dissertation remains a work in progress, my non-academic writing has been published in the Berkeley Science Review, the March for Science’s blog, the Genetics Society of America’s blog (Genes to Genomes), and more. Since September 2016, I’ve been the Editor in Chief of the Berkeley Science Review‘s blog. I’m also committed to science outreach and education, topics I spoke about in my recent interview on the radio program The Graduates. When I’m not reading, cursing at the microscope, or typing furiously, I can usually be found at the gym or cooking (and accidentally making the food too spicy at least five percent of the time).
