I’m a freelance science writer and fifth year Ph.D. student in molecular and cell biology at UC Berkeley. Although I’m still on page one of my dissertation, my non-academic writing has been published in the Berkeley Science Review, the March for Science blog, and the Genetics Society of America’s blog, Genes to Genomes. Since September 2016, I’ve been the Editor in Chief of the Berkeley Science Review Blog. I’m also committed to science outreach and education, topics I spoke about in my recent interview on the radio program The Graduates. When I’m not reading, cursing at the microscope, or typing furiously, I can usually be found at the gym or cooking (and accidentally making the food too spicy at least five percent of the time).
